My main focus is to design and provide bespoke software but with over 7 years experience in IT and with several Microsoft qualifications I can provide a wide range of hardware and networking services.

I believe computers can provide elegant solutions that make your life easier but that often our computers can be just another annoyance. I started writing software as an IT manager who became frustrated with paying hundreds of pounds a day for software that didn't quite work.

So my aim is to find out what you need and fix your problem as simply as possible!

I'm happy and qualified to deal with almost any type of IT issue...

Here's a list of the type of services I can offer:

  • help you choose and purchase software or write bespoke software for you.
    • Primarily I use the Java and C# programming languages
  • plan and install, fix or extend wireless and wired networks
    • Whether that's setting up a new office, working on an existing one or connecting different offices together.
  • consult with staff to produce a "specifications of needs"
    • even if I can't bid for the contract I can translate your needs into the type of specification that means the right hole gets plugged in the right way
  • run "system health checks" to find and prevent viruses or failing hardware
    • Whether or not you have dedicated IT staff I can audit your systems and generate a project plan to fix any identified issues
  • and more - just ask!
    • My experience has been that IT professionals often have a different idea of what systems need to do than the people that use them. So I pride myself in making sure I understand what you want before I start.

With many years experience volunteering for and working with charities and not-for-profit organizations in Manchester. As a result I understand that budgets are always tight and that IT has to be delivered without "geek speak" or jargon. So I talk about computers and networks using plain english and can draw up step-by-step guides both to your existing computer systems or to those I provide.

But with experience of large "enterprise" environments I can translate in the other direction and turn plain English into jargon.
